Why is it important to protect baby`s head?
The Atlas ,the first cervical vertebra, builds a joint upwards to the base of skull and downwards to our second cervical vertebra, the so called Axis. The first 2 cervical vertebraes (Atlas and Axis) and our occiput is a high complexive region of our bone structure, because between the occiput, atlas and axix discs don`t exist.Atlas and Axis work as a union together and enable a biggest possible range of movement in our cervical vertebra spine,e.g. turning the head to the side and nod. This region builds very important interfaces between the brain and the spinal cord, because Atlas and Occiput are connected through the Dura Mater. In the upper cervical vertebraes approx. 90% of all mechanic receptors of altitude, which are responsible for our feeling of location and movement of our body, are located.
If the head is not protected, nerves and bloodstreams, which connect the head and the rest of the body are getting squetched. It also can come to blockations in that sensible region and you raise yourself a baby, who cries a lot.
